The Driving Performance Society


Founding Principles Driving is of profound economic, social and personal importance to all parts of society. It represents the most widely applied, empowering and sophisticated relationship that exists between man and machine. Development, competition, exploration, extension and refinement of this relationship is therefore of immense relevance to the world and mankind.
The Driving Performance Society is dedicated to furthering endeavours in this field, with a particular emphasis on the performance of the driver.
a) To promote spirit, originality, learning and enjoyment in all aspects of driving performance
b) To encourage and support empirical investigation into driving performance, in particular:
i. The learning and acquisition of driving skills
ii. Factors that enhance or interfere with driving performance
c) To recognise and support original and extraordinary achievements and developments in driving performance
i. Motorsport and Competition
ii. Research
iii. Design
iv. Technology
v. Display and Performance
vi. Cinematic
vii. Teaching
viii. Endurance
d) To design and document new driving performance challenges and tests that extend the boundaries of performance measurement, with an emphasis on challenges that focus on the human performance aspects of driving skills.
e) To encourage activities that inspire exploration, development and competition within driving performance.
f) To support and encourage initiatives that will inspire greater interest and development of driving skills and performance,
g) To support activities and encourage driving performance activities that may directly or indirectly provide benefits to people in the future.
h) To encourage international cooperation and collaboration, including sharing of knowledge and experience, and healthy competition.
i) To promote honourable and sporting behaviour in all competitive activities.
